Global Citizenship Program
All students are encouraged to take part in West Bridgewater High School’s Global Citizenship Program. It has been designed to help fulfill our mission to educate students to acquire the knowledge, skills and values needed for success in the diverse and global society of the 21st Century. Through interdisciplinary academic study, community service, cultural exploration and travel or international collaboration, students heighten their appreciation of diversity and enlarge their capacity to work and contribute in an increasingly interconnected world. Students may apply for acceptance into this program in the spring of their freshman or sophomore year. During the remaining high school years they compile a resume which delineates their study of “global” courses selected from the school’s course offerings, their participation in a variety of activities offered by the Global Citizenship Club, their own unique global exploration project and investigation in the form of travel or international partnership with students from other places in the globe. A certificate is awarded upon graduation, as well as a special honor cord and the student’s participation in the program is likewise noted on the student’s high school transcript.
